WHEN HE WAS GOING ON AND ON ABOUT HIS FAMILY and how he has to make sure that they're not dishonored or misrepresented she kind of felt bad for him. like really felt for him. she's never had that experience herself, and she certainly never really wanted it. she's a people pleaser and probably could easily get caught up in trying to fulfill expectations (she did on some levels that are a bit more complicated), but it really brought her to the point of "if this is how your family treats you, then what is there?" to her, family is a sanctuary, not something to force you into a box. she's confused as to why he can't be sakuya and a be someone who represents his family, and it's really really sad and she doesn't feel that he would understand if she tried to express it? she kind of did in "when the world moves on and your name is gone, then what are the memories of you and your family going to be?" sort of like a life unlived.

lol oh god isn't like -205 the middle of that scale.

so vanille is... not really bound by certain social conventions. she really loves people and really loves spending time with them. if she likes someone and is attracted to them she will be pretty upfront about it, depending on the person. She's very physical and comfortable enough where she doesn't mind displaying it. she doesn't see why people are hesitant not to display their affection? sometimes it really just downright baffles her. if you love someone then touch them all over.

aside from that she's also very free with that kind of affection. EVERYONE ON GRAN PULSE LOVED EACH OTHER, so there really weren't the same expectations when it came to dating. she knows what a date is, but she has a different idea of what it would entail. i actually don't even think she realizes that he likes her that way yet because he hasn't really been upfront about it in the way that she's used to.

SO DATING IN THE WAY THAT HUNTER MEANS DATING -100, DATING IN THE WAY VANILLE THINKS HUNTER MEANS DATING MAYBE 7.

HE HAS but I'm playing him like he hasn't actually played the game. Which is totally possible because his home life has been pretty crazy the past couple years and then he went to boarding school where apparently they aren't allowed to have any good things ever, not even movies or comics.
