WAH VANYA. I ALMOST FEEL BAD WRITING ABOUT THIS. okay, so she really, really adores vanya to death, but vanille has a lot of issues (as i was saying above) with drowning herself in other people's problems so she doesn't have to be aware of her own. vanya is really the perfect candidate for this—and in a lot of their threads vanille consciously changes the subject of the conversation off of herself so she doesn't really have to explain/deal with some of the issues that she doesn't want to deal with. telling vanya about oerba and waking up in crystal five-hundred years later in one of their more recent threads was a really big step for her. now, this is partially because vanya has a lot of her own problems to deal with, and vanille knows that she worries about all of her friends and makes an effort not to add to that. it's really interesting because a lot of the time vanya only sees one side of her, and that's her stereotypical bouncy, happy girl big-sister side.

so, there's the bit where she gives pretty good advice on how to deal with things, but she's never really telling the whole story. even the bits of information she gives her are really few and far between as far as... what happened. AND SHE DOES THIS ON PURPOSE.

but she really feels like she needs to take care of vanya, especially from a familial perspective. vanille is really domestic, and she likes to make sure that everyone that she cares about is taken care of in the ways that she knows how to take care of them.
